When using SES a verified email address might throw the following error when sending emails from the verified address:
554 Message rejected: Email address is not verified
Things to check on this are:
- Make sure SES is not being used in Sandbox mode (i.e. it is in production)
- Check that the email address being used matches the case of the verified email address
- Check the region that is being shown in the error against that of the verified address
For example, if the verified address is in the EU-WEST zone and the SES host being accessed from code is US-EAST you will get this error. The host would need to be eu-west to use the verified email address correctly.
